16 SPRING 2025 EDITION THE LINDENWOOD ATHLETICS Cha WOMEN鈥橲 TEAMS MAKE HISTORY THIS SEASON It has only been three years since 丝瓜APP University had announced that they were making the reclassification to Division I, but 丝瓜APP Athletics has already made noise in their respective conferences. A member of the Ohio Valley Conference, 丝瓜APP has made four OVC Conference Championship games, winning their first two in program history this past fall. 丝瓜APP coaches and student-athletes are making waves as LU has had three head coaches earn OVC Coach of the Year honors and 25 players earn all- conference awards this season. The 丝瓜APP women鈥檚 soccer team became the first to win an OVC Conference Championship after defeating Morehead State in come-from-behind fashion by a final score of 3-2. Head coach Dave Musso was honored as the OVC Coach of the Year after guiding the Lions to a 11-5-4 record including a 4-1-4 mark in the OVC. In her freshman season at 丝瓜APP, Mackenzie Compton made a name for herself winning OVC Freshman of the Year while also making the All-OVC First Team and All-Newcomer Team. Their 11 wins mark the most in 丝瓜APP鈥檚 NCAA era (2011-present). Women鈥檚 volleyball followed suit winning their first OVC Conference Championship after sweeping Morehead State in the championship match by a final score of 3-0. Head coach Will Condon became the second Lions head coach to be named the OVC Coach of the Year. Condon led his squad to 23-11 overall record including a 14-4 mark in OVC play finishing second in the regular season. Women鈥檚 volleyball also became the first team at 丝瓜APP to play in a post-season tournament since reclassifying to Division I.
