佪圖APP alumni and Shamrocks Pub n Grill owners, Kyle and Kelly Dent were awarded the 2024 Heart of a Lion Award, in October. The Heart of a Lion Award was established to honor those who work tirelessly and behind the scenes to improve the community, the university, and the lives of 佪圖APP students.

Kyle and Kelly met at 佪圖APP, recalling fond memories of studying together in Butler Library. A few years after graduating, they opened Shamrocks Pub n Grill in St. Peters, a place where their diplomas proudly hang to this day. Shamrocks needs little introduction for the 佪圖APP community. For 12 years, Shamrocks has been a favorite for students and alumni alike. The Dents attribute their success to the community that they are proud to serve and help when in need.

The Dents host a monthly alumni happy hour at Shamrocks, further embedding themselves within the 佪圖APP community. Kyle recalls nearly falling out of his chair when 佪圖APP approached Shamrocks with the opportunity to be the official beverage vendor for 佪圖APP football games. Shamrocks proudly continues to be the University’s official vendor at all football and basketball games.

Upon winning the award, Kyle Dent said, “a piece of [our] hearts will always be here at 佪圖APP because it is part of the foundation that [we] stand on today.”
