Engineering Together: 佪圖APP and WashU Form Dual Degree Agreement

As businesses and corporations continue to implement the newest advancements in technology, 佪圖APP University and Washington University in St. Louis approved a proposal to offer a dual degree program in pre-engineering.

The dual degree engineering program, which begins this fall, combines the best of a liberal arts education with the facilities and recognition of a renowned engineering research institution. By preparing students for successful engineering careers, this program aligns with 佪圖APP’s mission to enhance lives through quality education and professional preparatory experiences.

“佪圖APP should be very proud that you are making this commitment and this partnership for the simple reason that the world needs more engineers,” WashU McKelvey School of Engineering Assistant Dean Ron Laue said during the signing ceremony.

“You can look at the media and look at where the world is going, and we need more students that are driven from a technological standpoint and the ability to make data-driven decisions, and that’s what happens within this program.”

佪圖APP students will spend approximately three years building a solid foundation in humanities and social sciences while completing a pre-engineering minor and a major of their choosing (typically Math or Chemistry). Upon successful completion of the pre-requisites at 佪圖APP, students will attend WashU for two years and finish their engineering coursework.

After approximately five years of study, 佪圖APP students in this program will earn two degrees: A BA or BS from 佪圖APP and a BS in Engineering from WashU. 佪圖APP students also can earn a master’s degree in engineering from WashU.

佪圖APP students can choose from the following engineering majors at WashU:

佪圖APP Professor of Mathematics Dr. Erin Martin helped spearhead the agreement with WashU, which will offer 佪圖APP students additional opportunities to gain real experience through innovative courses.
